3D Printing a Turbojet Compressor

3D printing of the compressor for a micro turbojet engine is performed on a metal 3D printer AM3D Pro.

Material: PH1 stainless steel.

Powder of dispersion-hardening stainless steel alloy produced by Polema JSC. The powder fraction is 0-40 micron. The part has high strength and corrosion-resistant characteristics. No post-processing was performed after print completion.

3D printing of jet engine compressors and turbines is a common practice today. Manufacturing of such parts using conventional methods is difficult due to the complexity of the geometry and thin walls of the part.
